These fried apple pies are a McDonald’s copycat recipe that feature a homemade apple pie filling encased in pastry and deep fried to flaky perfection. The pies are finished off with a dusting of cinnamon sugar for a unique and delicious dessert option.
I grew up eating fried apple pie at McDonald’s, and I have to say, this homemade version is WAY better than the restaurant recipe! The addition of cinnamon sugar really takes these pies over the top.

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups dried apples or dried peaches.
1 cup of warm water.
3 tablespoons granulated sugar.
1 tablespoon butter.
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder.
1 can jumbo refrigerated flaky biscuits.
vegetable oil for frying.
INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP 1: In a saucepan, combine dried apples and water. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
STEP 2: Remove from heat and let cool, add sugar and butter, mix well, and set aside.
STEP 3: Roll each biscuit into a circle, and place 1 tablespoon of apple mixture on half.
STEP 4: To seal pies, moist edges of circles. Fold in half, making sure edges are even. Using a fork dipped in flour, press edges together to seal.
STEP 5: In a heavy skillet, heat oil and fry the pies over medium heat until golden.
STEP 6: Drain well on paper towels, and sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the pies.
